Privacy Policy — Qarar (English Version)
This policy explains what data the Qarar app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.
1. Introduction
Qarar is a platform for booking private consultations with medical, legal and financial specialists, and for speaking with them by chat, voice call or video call inside the app.
These consultations are sensitive by nature, and we handle your data accordingly. This policy covers the Qarar app on Android and iOS and the services behind it. By using the app, you agree to it.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Account data When you register we collect your name, phone number, email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be read by us. Your phone number is used to verify your identity with a one-time code.
2.2 Profile data Your profile photo, if you choose to add one, and any other profile details you fill in.
2.3 Specialist data If you register as a specialist, we additionally collect your field and qualifications, the professional certificates and documents you upload for verification, and your availability and consultation pricing. Our team reviews these documents solely to verify your credentials.
2.4 Bookings and consultations Your booking history: the specialist, consultation type, date, time and status.
2.5 Messages and attachments Text messages exchanged between you and a specialist, and any files you upload in the chat — images, documents or PDF reports. You upload these by choice and they may contain sensitive personal information, so upload only what your consultation requires.
2.6 Voice and video calls Audio and video are carried in real time through our calling provider (Agora). We do not record calls and we do not store their audio or video content. What we retain is call metadata only: start time, duration and status (answered, missed, cancelled).
2.7 Payment data Payments are processed by an external gateway (MyFatoorah) on a secure page. The app never receives or stores your bank card details at any point. We retain the transaction record: amount, date, status, and the consultation it relates to.
2.8 Device and notification data We collect your device identifier, model, operating system and push notification token. This is technically necessary to deliver notifications and to make your device ring for an incoming call.
3. Data we do not collect
Qarar does not request or collect any of the following:
• Your location — the app never requests location permission.
• Your contacts — we do not read your address book.
• SMS messages or call logs on your device.
• Your bank card details — see section 2.7.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. How we use your data
• Creating and managing your account and verifying your identity.
• Showing you relevant specialists and letting you book with them.
• Enabling chat, voice calls and video calls between you and a specialist.
• Processing payments and producing your transaction record.
• Sending booking notifications, reminders and incoming-call alerts.
• Verifying specialists' credentials before they join the platform.
• Support, troubleshooting and improving the service.
• Complying with applicable laws and legal obligations.
5. Sharing your data
We share only what is necessary, with service providers acting on our behalf under contractual limits on their use of it:
Provider Purpose What they receive
Agora Carrying call audio and video The live call stream, not recorded, and a session identifier
Google Firebase Delivering notifications and call alerts Push token and device identifier
MyFatoorah Payment processing Transaction amount and details; card data is entered directly with them
We may also disclose data where required by law, court order or a competent authority.
The specialist you book with sees your name, your messages to them and any attachments you send — that is the consultation itself.
6. App permissions
We request the following permissions only when they are needed. You may decline them, or withdraw them later in your device settings, though declining disables the related feature:
Permission Why we ask
Camera Video calls, and capturing a profile photo or a document
Microphone Voice and video calls
Photos and media Choosing a profile photo or attaching an image or document
Notifications Appointment reminders and incoming-call alerts
7. How we protect your data
• All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS/TLS.
• Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be recovered in plain text.
• Access to user data is restricted to staff whose work requires it.
• Your session data is excluded from your device's cloud backup, so an open session cannot be restored onto another device.
That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When an account is deleted, personal data is deleted or anonymised, except where we are legally required to retain it — for example financial transaction records, which accounting and tax rules may require us to keep for a set period.
9. Your rights
At any time you have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data — most of it is editable directly from your profile screen.
• Delete your account and your data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data, to the extent applicable law allows.
You can exercise these rights from within the app, via the profile and settings screens.
10. Deleting your account
You can request account deletion from within the app. Deletion removes your profile, photo, booking history, messages and attachments, other than data we are required to retain under section 8.
11. Children's privacy
Qarar is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and we delete such data if we discover it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Where a change is material we will notify you in the app, and the last-updated date at the top of this document will always reflect the current version.
Important notice: Qarar is a means of reaching specialists. It is not a substitute for emergency care, in-person medical diagnosis or formal legal representation. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. Each specialist is responsible for the advice they give.
